Heidi Tweardy learned how to knit at age seven during World War II in Germany and has continued to knit until the present day. After retiring from teaching she had more time on her hands and advanced from socks to felted socks and eventually she designed her slippers making between 150 to 200 pairs over the last four years. Heidi’s slippers are made of 100 percent new wool, the soles are suede leather and lamb skin. They wear very well and are loved by those who buy them. She also hosts her own weekly knitting group in a effort to educate others on the art of knitting.
