Sta-C Peterson, founder of StormFlight Designs creates Artisan Jewelry for women and men who are looking for uniquely designed, quality, handcrafted jewelry. Sta-C’s formal training began in the mountains of Northern Georgia at William Holland Lapidary School. She has studied gemstone faceting, silver metalsmithing, fold forming, enameling, lost wax casting, stone cutting, stone setting, box making and inlay. Education is an ongoing process she hopes to continue for a long time to come. Stacey is a member of the Tuscarora Lapidary Society of Brookhaven, PA. Inspiration for the creation of her art comes from the love of natural objects like stones and metal. She adds elements from Celtic designs and knots, ancient weaving techniques, and classic influences. Sta-C often scours the internet, catalogs and gem shows looking for striking shapes, colors and unique stones. As she holds a focal stone in her hands, she begins to visualize a completed piece of jewelry. She often admits that each piece has a will of its own and almost seems to create itself.

What is on your desk right now?
Besides a lot of paperwork, I have several silver etched tree-of-life pendants half done and ready to put on some patina. I have been enjoying creating tree of life motif jewelry and etching is one of my favorite ways to create the design.
