Carolyn received a wood burning kit for Christmas when in fourth grade. Throughout the years she dabbled with all kinds of arts and crafts. Eventually Carolyn decided that pyrography (wood burning) was what she loved to do.
After raising two boys, in 2010 she decided it was time to really start her pyrography art business. At that time she became a member of The Palette & The Page, which is in her hometown.
Carolyn started out her business creating murals using three dimensional shapes of cut out wood and other sources and adding color and texture to her work. Carolyn does custom order murals by taking photos of homes, businesses, churches etc., and then designs a special mural for personal remembrance. She is always looking for new ideas to expand her wood art and has expanded to wood bowls, platters, lazy susans, spoons and more. Loving what she does, it makes her even more joyful when creating customers ideas and designs on their choice of wood.

What does a perfect day look like to you?
It would be a non humid low 70's day sitting and listening to a rushing river/creek with the sun gleaming off the water. I would be reading or just enjoying the view while eating popcorn and a waffle cone with a double ice cream. To top off the day I would then have a camp fire to enjoy the smell and to gaze into the flames. When I got tired I would crawl into my one man tent and sleep to the sounds of nature.
